Lawyers for Lawyers bezorgd om vervolging van advocaat Georgy Antonov

Russische opsporingsambtenaren proberen het werk van advocaat Georgy Antonov te belemmeren. Dat meldt de International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) op haar website. Antonov werd – tegen zijn wil – als getuige gehoord in de zaak van één van zijn cliënten. Vervolgens haalden de autoriteiten Antonov om die reden van de zaak af en begonnen zij een strafzaak tegen hem. Ook werd Antonov´s huis doorzocht en werden juridische documenten die hij in bezit had in beslag genomen.

Lawyers for Lawyers roept de Russische autoriteiten op ervoor te zorgen dat de rechten van Antonov en zijn cliёnten worden gerespecteerd en dat verdere ongeoorloofde inmenging in Antonov´s professionele werkzaamheden wordt voorkomen.
