Pavel Sapelka trad onder meer op voor de gevangen presidentskandidaat en oppositieleider Andrei Sannikau, voor prodemocratie-activist Dzmitry Dashkevich en voor Pavel Seviarynets, het hoofd van het Electorale Bureau van voormalig presidentskandidaat Vitali Rymasheyvsky, die ook vastzit. Tevens was hij lid van het bestuur van de balie in Minsk.

Op 3 maart 2011 is Pavel Sapelka samen met zijn collega’s Aleg Ageev, Tatiana Ageeva, Vladzimir Toutsik en Tamara Garaeva door de balie van Minsk van het tableau geschrapt. Er is geopperd dat het Ministerie van Justitie er meerdere keren bij de balie van Minsk op heeft aangedrongen om disciplinaire procedures tegen verschillende advocaten te voeren. De balie zou dat hebben geweigerd tot februari 2011, omdat zij van mening was dat er geen sprake was van schending van beroeps- of ethische normen. De advocaten traden op voor oppositieleden, activisten en betogers die zijn opgepakt in de nasleep van de presidentsverkiezingen op 19 december 2010.
