China Vergunningen ingetrokken en arrestatie Wang Yonghang

L4L heeft in een brief aan de Chinese autoriteiten zijn zorgen geuit over het intrekken van de vergunningen van 53 Chinese advocaten en de arrestatie van Wang Yonghang. De 53 advocaten, waaronder Jiang Tianyong, Li Heping, Li Xiongbing, Li Chunfu, Wang Yajun en Gao Shaofei, hebben gemeen dat zij zaken behandelen die politiek gevoelig liggen.

Wang Yonghang werd op 4 juli 2009 gearresteerd. Naar verluidt is hij mishandeld tijdens zijn ondervraging en bestaat het gevaar dat hij wordt gemarteld. Het vermoeden bestaat dat Wang is gearresteerd in verband met zijn werk voor leden van de verboden sekte Falun Gong.

L4L organiseerde een schrijfactie in september 2009 (zie hier de brieven die destijds werden verzonden).
