On 7 September 2020 the Sindh Bar Council, the Bar Council of a province in the south of Pakistan, strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of lawyer Mr. Muhib Ali Leghari. According to the Sindh Bar Council, Mr. Muhib Ali Leghari spoke out in matters of enforced disappearances and has been abducted himself on his way to home from the court.
The Sindh Bar Council states that this abduction is meant to send a message to the public and legal fraternity and that this matter is of great importance for the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary. The Sindh Bar Council calls upon the federal government and the prime minister of Pakistan to ensure the safe return of Mr. Muhib Ali Leghari.
