L4L shocked by liquidation of lawyer

Lawyers for Lawyers is shocked by the liquidation of lawyer Derk Wiersum (44). Our thoughts go out to his family members and relatives.

Derk Wiersum was shot dead in Amsterdam on 18 September. He was, amongst others, the lawyer of Nabil B., crown witness in the big liquidation case against the criminal organization of Ridouan Taghi. Next week the case of the crown witness was scheduled to continue.

Lawyers for Lawyers is very concerned about the impact of this tragic event on the legal profession and the rule of law, as are many others. We will follow this case closely.
