L4L

On Monday 10 October 2011 L4L organized for her volunteers an United Nations Human Rights Machinery Training, in cooperation with stichting Opleiding Advocaten Amsterdam.

The training has been developed by the Sollicitors International Human Rights Group (SIHRG) and has repeatedly been followed by British lawyers. Inspired by the great success the course booked in England, L4L decided to bring the course to the Netherlands. Lecturer of the training was Nazila Ghanea, who especially came over from London for this training.

The course offered a wide overview of the UN Charter Based Bodies, the Speciale Procedures under the UN and the UN Treaty Bodies. The training was a combination of a reading and Group assignments.

Through the training, volunteers could gain more knowledge about the United Nations Human Rights Machinery, which can help them in their work for L4L. The training was a success; Nazila Ghanea lectured in a very clear and understandable way, and the volunteers positively valued the training.
