Turkey Hearing Ümit Kocasakal adjourned to 12 October

The first hearing in the trial of İstanbul Bar Association head Ümit Kocasakal and nine other lawyers began at a Silivri court in İstanbul on 17 May. The trial was adjourned until 12 October due to the great number of people that had come to the courtroom. Among them was a delegation of L4L and Fair Trial Watch. Hans van Veggel, former dean of the Amsterdam Bar Association, was part of the delegation.

Kocasakal and the other lawyers are standing trial on charges of attempting to influence a fair trial.
