Video message from the Vice-President of the Ukrainian National Bar Association

Lawyers for Lawyers and the Amsterdam Bar Association organised a seminar on ‘Environmental Justice and the Work of Environmental Lawyers’ on 19 May 2022. We wanted to make use of the opportunity to address the ongoing war in Ukraine from a lawyers perspective during the seminar.
In light of this, a video message of Dr. Valentyn Gvozdiy, Vice President of the Ukrainian National Bar Association, was shown to ask attention to the ongoing war and the position of lawyers in his country. Gvozdiy addresses the rule of law in Ukraine, martial law, and the activity of the Ukrainian National Bar Association during times of war. He also called upon the attendees to consider making a donation to the Ukrainian National Bar Association to support the lawyers who are in critical need of financial support. The donations will be distributed to lawyers who have lost their homes, injured, have no means of subsistence, cannot buy food or medicine and other necessary things.
