Beatrice Mtetwa and the Rule of Law

Meet one of Zimbabwe’s most courageous human rights lawyers

Film screening
Panel Discussion with Beatrice Mtetwa

Beatrice Mtetwa lives and works in Zimbabwe where despite unlawful detentions and beatings by the police, she continues to defend human rights activists, journalists, (former) opposition candidates, and ordinary citizens that had the courage to speak up.

The bravery of Ms. Mtetwa and those she defends is undeniable, their message universal, and their determination inspiring.

After the short film (30 minutes) there will be a panel discussion with Beatrice Mtetwa, focusing on her work, the rule of law in Zimbabwe and the work of human rights defenders, especially in light of the upcoming elections.

She will be joined by Andrew Makoni (chair Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights)
