Iran Nasrin Sotoudeh stopt hongerstaking

L4L is verheugd te kunnen melden dat wij van bronnen hebben vernomen dat de Iraanse mensenrechten advocate Nasrin Sotoudeh op 4 december is gestopt met haar hongerstaking. Zij besloot de hongerstaking die al 49 dagen duren te stoppen nadat de Iraanse rechterlijke macht instemde met de opheffing van het tegen Sotoudeh’s dochter en man ingestelde reisverbod. Tevens werd het Sotoudeh toegestaan om op 4 december haar man en kinderen kort te zien, in de Evin gevangenis.

Op maandag 26 november hebben een aantal Nederlandse advocaten op initiatief van Lawyers for Lawyers bij de Iraanse ambassade een petitie aangeboden om aandacht te vragen voor de verslechterende gezondheidssituatie van  Nasrin Sotoudeh. Zij was toen al sinds 17 oktober in hongerstaking.

L4L zal de situatie van Nasrin Sotoudeh en haar familie op de voet blijven volgen.
