China Schrijfactie voor Chinese advocaat

Op 23 november 2009 is de Chinese advocaat Huang Qi veroordeeld tot drie jaar cel. Hij krijgt de straf voor het illegaal in bezit hebben van staatsgeheimen. Mensenrechtenorganisaties, waaronder L4L, vermoeden echter dat Huang Qi’s veroordeling verband houdt met zijn werk voor nabestaanden van de slachtoffers van de aardbeving in Sichuan in mei 2008. Deze kwestie ligt in China uiterst gevoelig en was al eerder een reden om de vergunning van advocaten in te trekken. L4L ziet de veroordeling van Huang Qi dan ook als een manier om zijn legitieme activiteiten als advocaat te frustreren. Om deze reden organiseerde L4L een schrijfactie (zie hier de brieven die door de L4L-vrijwilligers werden verzonden).
